Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – CATH LAB

Location: Hackensack, NJ - 07601

Schedule: Evenings | 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM | 5x8 hour shifts/week

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks

On-Call: Required (rotation may vary based on staffing and unit needs)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Catheterization Lab team for a 13-week contract. The RN will evaluate patients, assist physicians during procedures, and deliver comprehensive, evidence-based nursing care in a dynamic and high-acuity environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate patients and assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage patient care throughout the procedural cycle.
• Function as the intra-procedural RN—documenting, administering medications, and circulating during minimally invasive procedures such as LHC and PCI.
• Provide support and care during advanced device-assisted interventions (e.g., IABP, Impella, Shockwave, atherectomy devices).
• Advocate for evidence-based practices and contribute to ongoing improvements in care delivery.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation aligned with clinical priorities and standards of care.
• Perform duties in alignment with professional nursing practice and organizational values.
• Additional duties as assigned by leadership.

Required Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN)
• Active RN license in New Jersey (or valid multi-state compact license)
• BLS certification (AHA)
• ACLS certification (AHA)
• Telemetry certification
• Must have prior Cath Lab RN experience
• Must be able to perform intra-procedural documentation, medication administration, and circulator duties

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Critical care experience
• Experience with EPIC and Sensis documentation systems
• Familiarity with advanced interventional equipment: IABP, Impella, Shockwave, atherectomy devices
• Experience with vascular and/or neuro diagnostic and interventional procedures
